Mission
The purpose of this organization is to promote friendship and mutual understanding among African students, black identifying individuals, and all other interested persons. We intend to stimulate intellectual, social and cultural advancement among its members and do all things necessary to project Africa in its true image. Our mission is to unify the African community and all people of African descent at the University of Vermont so that we can embrace and enhance our cultural identity on campus. The objective is to strengthen the cultural bridge within the American-African communities by teaching the values and cultural practices of Africa and the African diaspora.

The African Students Association (ASA) comprise of a group of students of both African and non-African descent dedicated to the education of the UVM community at large of the different cultures that make up the African continent. Membership in the ASA requires a commitment to the mission of the ASA. The Organization will also provide a network of support for African students at the University of Vermont and will serve as a source of information for any member of the university’s community interested in learning about the African culture. The African Students Association will be a service as well as a social organization which aims to rid misconceptions concerning African countries through education.

Alianza de Latines is a student-run organization and community dedicated to uplifting Latine students at UVM by providing a network, hosting events and affinity spaces, and advocating for Latines' best interests on campus. UVM Alpine Ski Racing Club offers both new and experienced racers the opportunity to compete against other colleges throughout New England. This team is all about inclusiveness, community and improvement. It is as competitive as you make it. We currently race as a guest team in the Thompson Division of USCSA. Our season typically consists of 10 races over 5 weeks in Vermont and New Hampshire. We offer multiple training days during the week as well as preseason work outs. We train at Cochran's Ski Area Tuesday-Thursday in the months January to Mid March. Contact our officers for more information about all our program has to offer.

Each year ASB runs one event, a week long travel and service trip! The specifics change year to year but past locations include Nashville, The Outerbanks, Charleston, and Atlanta to name a few. Between two and five separate trips are sent out every year containing around 10 students to partner with a recognized non-profit, each with unique specialties such as Environmental Science, Animal Science, Healthcare, and more. Asian Student Union works to provide an inclusive community for students that identify as Asian/Pacific Islander (APIDA) and those who are interested in Asian and Asian American culture. We also work to promote a multi-cultural understanding of the Asian American experience amongst its members, the UVM community, and the greater Burlington area. Of course, none of this would be possible without first establishing a supporting environment based on respect, understanding, and acceptance within the APIDA community on campus.

To achieve our goals, ASU members develop and implement cultural and fundraising events every semester in order to raise awareness about issues concerning the APIDA community, share the vibrant and diverse cultures of Asia, and enhance the experiences of APIDA students at UVM.

The club aims to be a resource for innovation, student networking opportunities, and community outreach in the biomedical engineering and related fields. The primary purpose of the Biomedical Engineering Society (BMES) will be to build and maintain a community of students with a common interest in engineering, biology, medicine, math, computer science, and other related fields. The society will organize events to provide its members with opportunities to engage with the larger Burlington community through outreach projects and volunteering efforts. The society will provide the opportunity to participate in a design competition where members can showcase and practice their innovation skills outside of a classroom or research setting. The society will also further garner interest in the field of Biomedical Engineering to UVM students by organizing on campus talks. Lastly, BMES will also facilitate networking for students by sending them to the nationwide annual BMES conference to represent UVM and in some cases to present their research successes thus far.

Black Student Union was established in 2003 as a way for students of color to find community, build coalition and allies, increase diversity, and strengthen intercultural development. We also provide a judgment free space where individuals are given an opportunity to express their views and ideas. We also aspire to reach out to not only the campus community but also to Burlington as a whole and advocate for the rights of Black people around the world. The Brain Exercise Initiative at the University of Vermont, strives to create a positive and encouraging environment by leading both Alzheimer's and Non-Alzheimer's nursing home residents in simple brain exercises. For about 45 minutes a day, volunteers will lead sessions consisting of math, writing, and reading aloud, which is based on scientific research proving the direct positive correlation between simple brain exercises and better cognitive health. Our organization provides involved students with a unique volunteering/clinical opportunity to work with seniors and contribute to research-backed efforts, all while improving their communication and leadership skills.

Colleges Against Cancer is a nationwide collaboration of students, faculty, and staff dedicated to eliminating cancer by initiating and supporting programs of the American Cancer Society in college communities. Our chapter is called Catamounts Against Cancer.

The main goal of Catamounts Against Cancer is to fight cancer by volunteering for and fundraising for programs of the American Cancer Society and our surrounding VT community. Our goals as a club are constantly growing, but here are a few:

-Conduct regular weekly meetings with all members along with weekly leadership team meetings.
-Pursue, plan, and execute fundraising events throughout the year that support the ACS.
-Contribute to our club's growth as a collaborative effort among all students and student organizations on campus.
-Facilitate and maintain relationships with the local American Cancer Society office and staff, surrounding chapters, and the Colleges Against Cancer National Leadership Team.

Hello! We are the student body of the Catholic Center at UVM. The Catholic Student Association aims to be the voice for Catholic students on campus and to cultivate growth and understanding of the Catholic faith. In addition to the ministry of the Catholic Center including daily Mass, Reconciliation, and Adoration, the CSA hosts numerous events throughout the school year such as dinners, barbecues, game/movie nights, and off-campus trips and retreats. The Celtic Cats are UVMs official Irish Dance Team. We welcome those who are brand-new, old-pros, and anywhere in between.

Our top priority is to create a fun and inclusive space to build confidence and expand our knowledge of Irish dance. We also get the opportunity to learn some Scottish Highland dancing!

In a typical year, we perform in venues both on and off campus, compete against other collegiate teams, and even get to teach our classmates through Bring-a-friend practices.

Our Story
Back in 2016, a group of rad ladies attended a ski and snowboard film festival and noticed the absence of female-identifying and non-binary athletes on screen. Motivated to challenge this lack of representation, they set out to create their own edit. As they spoke with others, it became clear that many shared the same frustration. What began as an idea for a film project quickly grew into a community of female-identifying and non-binary skiers and riders at the University of Vermont.
Within a few years, Chicks on Sticks evolved from a small group gathering in the Davis Center into a Student Government Association-recognized club with over 2,000 members. Over time, the focus expanded from creating media to increasing access and equity in the outdoors. From coordinating rides to the mountains and organizing backcountry trips to fundraising for nonprofits and running mentorship programs, Chicks on Sticks VT continues to bring people together around a shared love of being outside and sliding on snow.

UVM Club Field Hockey is a student-led competitive team that is a full member of the National Field Hockey League (NFHL) - a national, co-ed club league. Our primary season is from September to November where we play other club teams throughout the East Coast.



Tryouts take place once a year in the fall around the first or second weekend of September. Attendance is mandatory for both days of tryouts where athletes will be assessed on skills and sportsmanship (we highly value player attitude! Our team extends beyond just playing- we get together regularly outside of practice). We are a co-ed team so we welcome all genders and all skill levels to come try out. Contact us before tryouts if you need to borrow gear!

We practice 3x a week in the fall for about 2 hours in the evenings accompanied by travel on the weekends which can sometimes involve overnights (usually at teammates' houses). Our travel and uniforms are covered by club fundraising and there are few out-of-pocket expenses. During the spring season, we practice 2x a week outside (weather permitting) and move indoors when necessary - we will set up occasional scrimmages in the spring but travel is not as regular as the fall season.



In the past several years, our team has been invited to travel to Virginia Beach to participate in the National championship where we are able to play top teams from all over the country, including Northeastern, UNC Chapel Hill, VA Tech, etc.



Overall, the club field hockey team has become an organization that revolves around athleticism, friendship, community involvement, and, of course, having a TON of fun.

Engineers Without Borders (EWB) UVM is one of the many student chapters of EWB-USA. We feel that everyone has the right to the fundamental necessities of life especially access to electricity, clean water, and clean air. Our goal is to use our knowledge and creativity to work with developing communities to get over the barriers preventing them from obtaining these basic needs. EWB-UVM is a space for students to apply their knowledge and creativity to real-world problems through projects in Vermont, the U.S., and in developing countries worldwide.

EWB-UVM also provides a variety of opportunities for students to develop professionally. We network with external partners in the community, attend professional conferences, organize fund raising events, and are active in managing the day-to-day operations and administration of the chapter.

Membership has been growing over the last three years because of the enthusiasm within CEMS about the kinds of meaningful, real-world projects EWB is undertaking. Students are actively engaged in growing the club and broadening its impact both within UVM and in the community. We always love to have new members, and we accept all majors! UVM FeelGood is a chapter of a student-led national movement working to end extreme poverty in our lifetime. We believe that extreme poverty and hunger can and will be ended, and we work toward that goal by serving grilled cheese made with ingredients donated by local partners, including Klinger’s Bread, Red Hen Baking, and Cabot, in exchange for a suggested $5 donation. 100% of the money we raise goes directly to The Hunger Project. You can find us outside the Davis Center tunnel next to the Ski & Snowboard Clubhaus on Wednesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays from 11:30 am–2:30 pm. We also cater events around campus. The UVM Figure Skating Club is dedicated to supporting students of all levels in pursuing skating during college. Our goal is to provide resources and activities for UVM skaters in order to encourage continued participation in the sport. We do this by providing on-campus ice times, attending intercollegiate competitions, hosting shows and exhibitions, having optional off-ice group workouts, and working with local coaches. Our synchronized skating team and our freestyle team both travel to compete annually along the east coast. The purpose of Food Recovery Network is to redistribute food from campus, food
vendors and farms to food security and distribution organizations in Burlington and the
surrounding areas.
The main goal of this club is to tackle hunger and food insecurity in Burlington and
surrounding areas through food redistribution. As a group we will understand and educate
ourselves on the issues of hunger and homelessness in the Burlington community. We will work
closely with UVM Dining Services and maintain our relationship with Rally Cat Cupboard. We
will make contacts with community organizations that we hope to be working with in the future.
These include food security organizations such as Food Not bombs, the People's Kitchen, and
Healthy Roots. We hope to find service opportunities, such as gleaning, cook nights or meal
service through these partnerships.

The UVM ACHA men's ice hockey club serves the role of the University's 2nd men's ice hockey team. The mission of this organization is to provide an avenue for high level non-varsity ice hockey players to continue to play competitive full-contact ice hockey while representing their school.

Founded in 2001, our club is well organized, highly competitive and represents UVM in an honorable and motivated manner.

We are a full member of the American Collegiate Hockey Association (ACHA), competing at the Division II level. The ACHA is the governing body for all nationally recognized intercollegiate ice hockey clubs throughout the country. We are also a full member of the Northeast Collegiate Hockey Association (NECHA). The NECHA is one of the northeast region's intercollegiate club ice hockey leagues. Its member teams are affiliates of ACHA's Division II.

Unlike many ice hockey clubs, we do not charge admission at our home events. Our games are always exciting and a great way to spend a few hours. Please come support our non-scholarship student-athletes as they represent the University of Vermont on the ice.

The University of Vermont Men's Club Lacrosse Team is an organization intended for those who would like to continue competitive sport in college, bonding with a welcoming group of guys in the process. We do not employ any coaches, instead choosing to run everything ourselves, allowing players to gain skills in organization and leadership if they so choose.

We are a member of the National College Lacrosse League (NCLL), which consists of club teams from schools that have varsity programs as well. There are competitive seasons during both semesters, with the possibility of national tournament qualification during the spring. The team typically travels 3-4 times during the semester, playing multiple games during the day and exploring the place we are in otherwise. We are looking for players who want to have fun on and off the field, representing the university as a student-athlete in the process.

We are a part of the New England Zone in Region 1 of the national organization. The club hosts weekly meetings featuring game nights, study hour, resume reviews, engineering panels, etc. UVM NSBE attends biannual conferences with the national organization (Regionals in the fall and Nationals in the spring). These conferences are a great opportunity for the chapter to bond NSBE chapters, gain invaluable experiences from NSBE professional talks, and attend the cultivated career fair (interviews and jobs offered on-the-spot!). UVM Orchesis Dance Company is an audition-based, student run dance company. Each semester, Orchesis choreographs, organizes, and executes the entire process of a professional performance for friends, family, and guests. Orchesis embodies a wide range of talent and personality, with varying styles each semester including contemporary, jazz, musical theater, hip hop, and modern. We hold auditions at the beginning of each school year with two rounds of cuts, consisting of across the floor, learning two combos, and selected solo performances. Rehearsals run three nights a week, with two required company pieces, one being jazz and one being contemporary. Beyond this, there are several other pieces by student choreographers of a style of their choosing. Involvement beyond the two company pieces is up to each individual dancer, meaning all three days of practice time is not mandatory for all.

UVM's Pad Project club works in conjunction with the two global health intervention nonprofits, The Pad Project and Two Little Children. Inspired by these two nonprofits, our mission is to sew reusable pads to be sent to girls and women at a school in Kajinge, Rwanda. Sending these pads is crucial for supporting girl's education, because otherwise these girls often have to stay at home due to their lack of menstrual care products. At our meetings, we often take time to sew and put together said reusable pads, but no sewing experience is needed. We offer guidance on how to sew the pads during the meetings. About every year, we hope to work with UVM's Engineer's Without Borders and send with them the pads to Kajinge. There, they are installing water facilities, so you can be rest assured that these supplied pads can be washed and reused for years to come. Overall, our values are advocating against period poverty and stigma. Anyone can join; we welcome everybody. The more members, the more pads we can send!

The People's Improv Group (PIG) is the only improvisational comedy club at the University of Vermont. Our open-door weekly meetings provide a recurrent time for decompression through unplanned and unscripted comedy performances and games. Whether you attend meetings to take part in the games or just to watch the fun, PIG is the place to be for some easy-going, low-stakes laughs! Our weekly club meetings are open to anyone, no previous experience necessary!

On top of these open meetings, the People's Improv Group has its very own show team! This team is an open-audition comedy troupe that practices once a week, with a coach, and performs at venues around campus and beyond. Our team has consistent performances around campus and at Vermont Comedy Club, and we host an open-casting call comedy show called “Trin-City Comfest” on campus every semester. The PIG show team has traveled to perform in shows such as SteelStacks Improv Comedy Festival, the National College Comedy Festival, SLATE: The World College Comedy Festival, and The Sarah Lawrence Intercollegiate Improv Competition at the PIT in New York City. RALLYTHON is a yearlong fundraising effort that culminates in a 12-hour Dance Marathon each spring in the Davis Center. We dance for 12 hours to honor the length of a nurse’s shift and support the patients and families at Golisano Children's Hospital at University of Vermont Health.

Since beginning in 2015, RALLYTHON has raised over $1 million to help fund life-changing medical equipment, Child Life services, and travel and food assistance for patient families. What started with 388 students raising $31,905.81 has grown into a campus-wide movement bringing together thousands of students and community members each year.

RALLYTHON 2027 will take place on March 27, 2027, from 12 P.M. to 12 A.M. on the 4th floor of the Davis Center. Join us for 12 hours of dancing, entertainment, food, and celebration — all For The Kids!

The UVM Robotics Club is a student-run organization dedicated to exploring robotics through hands-on learning, collaboration, and community engagement. Members work together to design, build, and program robots while welcoming students of all experience levels into engineering and technology. The club's mission is to promote and encourage robotics education within the University of Vermont and the surrounding community. The club supports this mission by participating in robotics competitions, including the VEX Robotics Competition, and by volunteering with FIRST Robotics events and teams each year. In addition, club members collaborate with local organizations on robotics-based community projects, including the development of a remotely operated vehicle (ROV) for Lake Champlain conservation efforts focused on detecting and removing invasive clams.

Beyond that, the club also works with K–12 students to teach robotics concepts and guide them through the process of designing and building robots!

No one is expected to participate in every project the club takes on. Members are encouraged to choose the projects that interest them most and explore the areas of robotics they are most passionate about (choose your own adventure). The University of Vermont Shooting Sports Club offers a secure and organized setting where members of the firearms community can gather, train, and compete. The club warmly welcomes individuals of all proficiency levels, spanning from complete novices to accomplished athletes engaged in national competitions. Encompassing both pistol and shotgun disciplines, members practice and compete across a wide range of events, including trap, skeet, and five stand. Scheduled practices and events cater to both leisure and competitive interests, with our teams facing off against other universities in nationwide tournaments and holding commendable national rankings. Every member is trained in proper firearm handling and technique, and the club holds itself to a high standard of discipline, safety, and respect for the sport.

Founded in 1900 by Gifford Pinchot, it is the largest professional society for foresters in the world. Here at UVM, our goal is to give students a chance to become more involved in Vermont’s forestry community by offering opportunities to gain valuable experience outside the academic arena. Hello Divers!

First, I want to say welcome to the UVM Springboard Diving Club and thank you for coming! The UVM Springboard Diving Club is extremely inclusive, and any student is allowed to join. Our mission is to expand the sport of springboard diving to all who would like to try. No matter the level, anyone is welcome to participate.

Club practices will be held roughly two days a week, and updates will be posted on our instagram! @uvmspringboarddive

In order to be eligible to dive, all club members are required to register on the UVM Lynx (that's here!). Divers are also required to submit the 2025-26 Agreement to Participate in order to participate. Divers who want credit can also register through the UVM Club Sports organization on this website. Divers who do not register or attend at least ten practices will not receive credit. We do recognize that these times can be inconvenient, so we will try our best to be as flexible as possible.

When participating in the UVM Springboard Diving Club we do require team members to adhere by certain rules and policies listed below.

Divers, lifeguards, coaches, etc. will be made aware of all rules and regulations prior to the first practice
Divers must register on the Lynx and sign in at the pool in order to dive
Divers cannot use either springboard until the coach has arrived and has instructed to do so
Divers must follow the coach’s instructions when manipulating the board
Divers must follow the coach’s instructions regarding which dives are and are not permitted
Divers must acquire a functioning approach or launch and in order to be permitted to attempt dives with potential risks
Divers must obtain permission in order to use any springboard
Divers must obey pool policy rules when diving on his or her own time
Divers must cooperate with the coaches and the lifeguards on duty
Divers must only be on the spring board one at a time
Divers must make sure there are no flags, lane lines, or patrons in front of the board while diving

The UVM Springboard Diving Club serves as an alternative way to participate in springboard diving at the University of Vermont. It is a safe and fun way to explore the sport and to enjoy an extracurricular activity. It can be as relaxed or as rigorous as the club member wishes. In addition to our own rules as a club, the world of diving consists of its own set of rules and regulations. Although you are by no means required to know all of this information, it is good to take a glance. Below I have provided a synopsis of the rules, regulations, and general information about diving.

What is diving?

Diving is the sport of jumping or falling into the water from a platform or springboard, usually using acrobatics.

What types of boards do you use?

Springboards are either at a height of one meter or three meter. While the UVM Springboard Diving Club will use both, elite competitions, like the Olympics only use three meter.

What is synchronized diving?

Synchronized diving is the act of two divers performing simultaneously on either two parallel springboards or on the same platform. This can be seen in the Olympics and in other competitions where the pool permits it.

What is a fulcrum?

A springboard is a flexible surface that can be manipulated through the movement of the fulcrum. The fulcrum is the device underneath the springboard that can be moved closer or further from the end of the board to produce a bouncier surface. There are nine different levels marked on the board that indicate the levels of flexibility. Nine is the most flexible whereas one is the least.

The University Players Theatre group is the oldest theatre club on UVM’s campus. We are an entirely student-run organization that prioritizes providing students with hands-on experience across all aspects of the theatre. This means we are constantly on the lookout for actors, directors, technical designers, and crew members. Each year, our club produces two main-stage shows at off-campus performing arts venues. This gives students the opportunity to work in new dynamic spaces and learn how to collaborate in a professional manner. Each spring, we also produce an annual Fringe Festival, which consists of a handful of short, student-written plays. WE LOVE PLANTS!

Since 1997 the UVM Horticulture Club has brought together students interested in horticulture so that they may increase plant knowledge and horticultural excitement for themselves and others in the community. In our Jeffords and Aiken Gardens, established by Professor of Horticulture, Mark Starrett, we grow our own plants, including flowers for wreath making, gourds for birdhouses, mints and other scented plants for essential oil extraction, and so much more! Some of our workshops include terrarium, apple cider, and bonsai making events, lavender harvesting, flower pressing, and garden volunteering. We host garden tours and take trips to botanical gardens. We grow and sell thousands of house plants to students! We hold plant propagation, cannabis cultivation, and seed saving seminars. We planted more than 30,000 bulbs on campus since 2023, a Soft Landing garden on central campus, renovated a wildflower meadow for UVM's Apiary, and are planting hundreds of trees!

The UVM Top Cats are UVM's TTBB (Tenor Baritone Bass) A-Capella ensemble. With hijinks and shenanigans dating back to 1981, the Top Cats is of UVM's most widely recognized clubs. Their presence has become one of the staples of the UVM experience. This is a select group often ranging from 9-16 members a semester. The Top Cats perform regularly in the UVM and greater Burlington communities, as well as up and down the east coast. At the most basic level, a Top Cat is a talented singer or vocal percussionist with a propensity for making friends and fun through musical performance.
Top Cats hold a variety of on-campus concerts throughout the semester, but they also perform at various business functions, festivals, and the occasional birthday party. UVM Bikes! is a student run bicycle co-operative at the University of Vermont. Our mission is to continue increasing the accessibility of bicycles for the UVM community through outreach, education, and advocacy, teaching folks the skills they need to repair and maintain their bikes.

Our main shop space is located at the UVM Booth House, 86 S Williams St. (commonly known as "the Co-op" or "the coop"). The shop is free for anyone affiliated with the University of Vermont (students, faculty, & staff) to use. We have the all tools you’ll need for any common bike repairs.

We stock an abundance of common parts — inner-tubes, brake pads, chains, cables, cable housing, chain lube, and more — and carry a limited supply of additional parts and accessories, such as tires, locks, fenders, grips, etc. We also have a large selection of well-loved used parts laying around. All new parts and accessories are available for purchase at discounted prices.

We have a large bicycle rental fleet which are available to UVM affiliates for semester or summer rentals. Rentals come with a lock and helmet, and are affordably priced at $25 per semester and $30 for the summer. Our rental bikes are repurposed/revived bikes that have been given new life by our team of dedicated volunteer mechanics. Our purpose is to provide training and instruction for students to learn or improve rock climbing skills and techniques. This UVM Climbing Club is composed of our Competitive Team and our Recreation Team. Our competitive team meets 3 times a week off-campus at MetroRock, and attends USAC competitions throughout the Fall and Spring semesters. Spots on comp team require attending tryouts, which only happen in the Fall at the beginning of each school year. Our additional recreational team (that is included under the umbrella of this club) is for all students regardless of skill level, and meets separately from the comp team! Anyone and everyone is welcome!!

Team info:

The cost of a membership to Metrorock in Essex (where we practice) is $275 for the entire semester which is a great discount for the team. Depending on how available transportation options are for each semester, each member may have to pay dues once a year to account for rides to and from practice. Please let us know if any costs are a barrier and we are happy to provide financial assistance.

UVM Belonging Builders is a club that hopes to combat loneliness on campus by hosting weekly social events for students to meet people and make friends! These events will be designed to start conversations and hopefully enable people to make friendships that persist outside the club.

They will also be designed with people who more often struggle with finding friends in college than others in mind (such as introverts, neurodivergent people, or those from underrepresented ethnic or economic groups). All are welcome here!

The UVM Club Baseball Team is a competitive organization carrying on the rich tradition of Vermont baseball. A great group of men with the goal of winning and developing great friendships.

Club Baseball practices Thursday and Friday afternoons and plays a single doubleheader on the weekend, either Saturday or Sunday. During the spring semester we have open practices for any student to attend, just contact us before and we will let you know when that next practice is. Come if you are interested and are hoping to get involved next year.

The home field for the UVM Club Baseball Team is historic Centennial Field, home to the Vermont Lake Monsters, a collegiate summer baseball team based out of Burlington.

The UVM Gymnastics team is an inclusive club for anyone interested in learning and training gymnastics. No experience is necessary to join and both men's and women's gymnastics are available. During the school year, practices are offered on Sundays 6:30pm-9:00pm and Monday - Thursday 7:45pm-9:45pm at the Green Mountain Training Center in Williston, VT. A carpooling system to practice is provided which allows members without vehicles to still train at this facility. The gymnastics team competes in the National Association of Intercollegiate Gymnastics Clubs (NAIGC), whose motto is "For The Love of The Sport," from November through April with several meets throughout the season. Competing is optional.

UVM’s Club Tennis Team is a co-ed, competitive, traveling team. It is made up of 10-12 girls and 10-12 boys each year. We participate in tournaments throughout New England and attend the annual USTA Campus Championships. We hold tryouts each fall and elect new leadership positions every spring. We hold practices several times a week, host social events, and fundraise for the team! Contact our team captains below for more detailed information.

Tryouts this year are September 21st at Burlington Tennis Club which is a short walk from campus (45 Tennis Ct, South Burlington, VT 05403) for both the “A team” and the “B team”. The Women's tryout will be from 1:00 - 3:00 and the Men's will be from 3:00 - 5:00. Please arrive 15 minutes early so we can check you in and get started on time. There will be a $15 fee for tryouts to pay for the court time. This will be payable through the UVM purchase portal which will be linked on this page.

UVM Club Water Polo is a team that competes in the North Atlantic Conference of the Collegiate Water Polo Association and attends tournaments throughout New England. There are three tournaments in the fall with the final tournament being league championships. The club won its first ever conference championship in Fall 2022 and has tallied additional conference wins over the past four years (Fall 2022, 2023, 2024, and 2025)! The club also fielded a women's team for the first time during the Spring 2025 season and finished second in the conference (Spring 2025, 2026)! On top of that, the club received the Most Successful Club Sport award from UVM's Student Government Association for the 2024/2025 season!

As a co-ed team, we encourage all those who have ever been interested in water polo to come to a practice night and try it out! No skill or experience is required, just the ability to swim. We are also committed to developing experienced players who hope to compete at a high level! The team is a great time and will end up having some of the best friends you’ve ever had. The UVM Dairy Challenge club is dedicated to furthering student knowledge in the dairy industry through farm operation assessment and taking part in Dairy Challenge competitions held in the northeast and at the national level. The UVM Dance Team is a close-knit group of dancers who love to perform! We enjoy entertaining the crowd at all Men’s and Women’s home basketball games. We perform jazz, pom, and hip-hop routines, as well as promote school spirit from the sidelines. The team also travels to America East and NCAA Tournaments in March of each year, most recently appearing on the nationally televised NCAA game in Raleigh, North Carolina against North Carolina State University. In previous years, we have traveled as far as Brooklyn New York, Columbus Ohio, Milwaukee Wisconsin and Louisville Kentucky.

The UVM Dressage team is a club sport that is open to all students with an interest in competing dressage. Our team is a part of the IDA (Intercollegiate Dressage Association). We compete in 10 shows through the year regionally, and have an opportunity to qualify for both the team and individuals to compete at the IDA Nationals which is hosted along with IEA Nationals (We have had individuals qualify for the past two years).

The UVM Dressage team is based out of the UVM cooperative barn, a short 2 minute drive (10 minute walk) away from campus. Being a member requires doing regular barn chores (mucking, making grain, grooming, organization) once a week, and a weekly team practice where you ride with other members and have some fun. We also have weekend events that we either host or participate in throughout the year!

Doctors Without Borders / Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF) is an international, independent, medical humanitarian organization that delivers emergency aid to people affected by armed conflict, epidemics, natural disasters, and exclusion from healthcare. MSF offers assistance to people based on need, irrespective of race, religion, gender or political affiliation. Today, MSF is a worldwide movement of 24 associations, bound together as MSF International, based in Switzerland. We conduct our own evaluations on the ground to determine people’s needs. More than 90 percent of our overall funding comes from millions of private sources, not governments. MSF is neutral. We do not take sides in armed conflicts. We provide care on the basis of need. MSF medical teams often witness violence and neglect in the course of their work, largely in regions that receive scant international attention. At times, MSF may speak out publicly in an effort to bring a forgotten crisis to public attention, to alert the public to abuses occurring beyond the headlines, to criticize the inadequacies of the aid system, or to challenge the diversion of humanitarian aid for political interests. MSF rejects the idea that poor people deserve third-rate medical care. We strive to provide high-quality care to patients. In 1999, when MSF was awarded the Nobel Peace Prize, the organization announced that the proceeds from the prize would go toward setting up a Neglected Diseases Fund. The goal was to raise awareness of diseases such as Chagas, sleeping sickness, and malaria and set up pilot projects for the clinical development, production, procurement, and distribution of treatments. This work has also helped lower the cost of HIV/AIDS treatment.

“Herping” is the term used for going out to look for reptiles and amphibians. The goal of UVM Herp is to teach students what it means to herp. In the warmer months, we go on regular herping expeditions, which consist of expert-led walks through the woods at night, where students learn how to find, identify, and safely catch herps. In the colder months, we host educational meetings to teach students about various aspects of herpetology. We also plan to volunteer for local organizations that support the conservation of herps.

If you've ever wanted to learn how to wield historical weapons (i.e., longsword, rapier, saber, cutlass, dagger, spear, sword and buckler, etc.), fight with them competitively in regional and national competitions, or just have a good time (safely) whacking your friends, then this club is for you!

If you already have your own HEMA gear, then by all means bring it to practice. If not, then that's quite alright! We have all the essential gear that you'll need to get started. That said, please come to practice in close-toed shoes and clothes you can move around and get sweaty in.

A group of passionate figure skaters who perform at the men's and women's home hockey games. We learn several high-intensity programs over the course of the season choreographed and taught by student captains. UVM Jazbaa is UVM's only Bollywood dance team and our aim is to bring the culture and diversity of South Asia to this university. We try to represent as many of these cultures as we can and therefore have all sorts of influences seen in our various dances. The UVM Kayak Club is a group of passionate and dedicated UVM students and paddlers who, through the club have developed as leaders and obtained the expertise and certifications to guide and kayak on rivers nationwide. The UVMKC's mission is to make the sport of whitewater kayaking more accessible by providing all necessary gear, instruction, and safety at no cost so that anyone can get on the river! MEDVIDA is the University of Vermont's official chapter of the national MEDLIFE organization. In addition to it's partnership with MEDLIFE, it also serves as a student hub for community service and social activism both internationally and within our local Vermont community.



What is MEDLIFE?
MEDLIFE is a non-profit organization with chapters at many schools nationwide. MEDLIFE seeks to provide medicine, education, and development to people living in rural areas of Ecuador, Peru and Panama where access to care is extremely limited. MEDLIFE provides short term relief in the form of one to two week long trips where students set up health clinics in rural villages.

Anyone is welcome to participate in MEDLIFE trips and events - there are no academic or medical certification requirements - just an interest in global health. Through fundraising and hard work, MEDLIFE students are successfully coordinating trips to bring healthcare to the poor in Ecuador, Panama and Peru. Come to our weekly meetings to get more involved!

This club offers an opportunity for UVM students to participate in a competitive and fun basketball organization. This club is student led, has annual tryouts in the fall, and has been on an upward trajectory since its rebirth in 2016. Our core values are unity, commitment, family, and competition. We practice 2-3 times per week with almost all games falling on weekends. 18 games are played per year falling anywhere from November to March. This club does not start and stop with basketball. We strive to build a community that contributes with fundraising and has a good time off the court as well.

Mission
Since 1970, our team's focus has been to promote and develop the highest level of collegiate rugby. A nationally recognized and ranked club, UVM Men's Rugby competes in the North Atlantic Collegiate Rugby Conference, Division II. During the regular season, we play teams like Coast Guard, UMass Lowell, UNH, UMaine, Boston University, and Norwich. As well as scrimmages against local teams.

We work to foster an inclusive and healthy group of young men, who value teamwork and excellence in what they do.

New members are always welcome and no experience is required.

All practices are at the rugby pitch located next to UVM Police Services unless otherwise indicated due to unforeseen circumstances.

UVM MOVE (Mobility-Oriented Vermont Engagement) is multidisciplinary career oriented club and a student chapter of ITE, a national community of transportation professionals. We work to expand our knowledge, learn skills, and connect with industry professionals and local organizations to learn more about the field of transportation engineering/planning and explore how transportation systems shape our local community.
